Gionee Pioneer P3: Great specs at a great price
Climbing up the ladder of the smartphone market-share, the Chinese manufacturer Gionee Communication Equipment Co. Ltd. has risen from 1.5% to 4.7% in their home-country during the last year. On the global front too, Gionee has made quite progress launching its vast product range one after the other. The latest in its offering basket is the smartphone Gionee P3 at Rs 7499.
Design- Sporting a decent design with a premium feel to it, Gionee Pioneer P3 lifts its look from its predecessor Gionee P2 which was launched earlier in August this year. The smartphone is available in both while and black models and gives the user the value for price feeling with its high-budget smartphone look.
Features and Specifications- Sporting a neat design, Gionee P3 runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean. It's 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels boasts a decent 5 mp camera with LED flash. Speaking about its specifications, the Gionee Pioneer P3 is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core processor along with a 512MB RAM and 4GB of inbuilt storage while expandable up to 32GB via microSD card. The battery at 1700 mAh is satisfactory considering its RAM speed. Among the standard features the phone includes a Dual Sim support, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS, EDGE Micro-USB and 3G.
Competition- While Gionee has strategically priced the Pioneer P3 in the Indian market, it still holds stiff competition from the likes of Nokia, Samsung, Micromax, Karbonn and Xolo smartphones. As per the recent launches, the under 10k market has been on fire with various brands targeting the middle-income users with budget smartphone. Among the popular ones, Nokia Lumia 520 at Rs 7550 boasts a dual core 1 Ghz processor with 512 MB RAM and a 8 GB internal storage. Also its brand value holds more command than Gionee in the Indian scenario.
Homegrown Micromax holds a decent market-share in India and its recent Micromax A74 Canvas (Rs 7260) is a sure shot hit. Karbonn's A18 Plus (Rs 7800), Xolo A600 (Rs 7400) and Intex Aqua i6 (Rs 8300) too are predominant in the under 10k market of smartphones today. source: fonearena.com
