Hindi comedy shows have never come to the limelight except a few, that too for a shorter period. Against the popular American comedy shows worldwide, we hardly can name any Indian comedy show having an International appeal. The big Bang theory, South Park, Ben and Kate and The Simpsons to name a few are well-liked by youngsters in India. The Indian comedy has, no doubt, achieved reputation in recent years with shows like FIR, 'Chidiya Ghar,' 'Tarak Mehta ka Ulta chasma' and Comedy Circus. The most admired among all of them is the recent "Comedy nights with Kapil" which has been tickling everybody's funny bone.

The comedian, Kapil Sharma, who hosts the show, has been named as a midnight turned celebrity with all the Bollywood celebrities approaching his show for their films' promotions. Each and every episode of this show has the element of novelty attached to it leaving people laughing like a drain. The audience is actually wondering that from where the comedian gets his sense of humour. But he has the answer even to this question as he said last weekend in his show, "Side mein National Market hai, waha 700 gram humour milta hai Rs 250 mein. Din mein teen baar paani se pijeye." Audience never gets bored with any of its episodes; in fact they love to watch these episodes over and again. Characters of 'Guthi' and 'Daadi' make it more comical and amusing.

"I never get bored of watching Comedy Nights with Kapil. Guthi is my favourite of all characters in the show," says Arshi Arora, student at IIS University.

The evidence to the fame of the show is that even after a mysterious fire devastated the sets of the show, a number of Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Lata Mangeshkar called Kapil to give their support. Adding more to its reputation trendy t-shirts have come out having popular dialogues in the show like 'Babaji ka thullu' and 'ittu sa tha' and are getting popular among youngsters.
