Rap Wars 2.0

When Poetry Club introduced the event last time, they didn't know this was going to be one of the pillars of OASIS. Rap Wars 2.0 was bigger and better this time.

It saw a participation of 9 participants for the final stage round that was conducted in FD-2 QT. It was amazing to see that India has got so much of potential when it comes to rapping. Everyone was unique in their own way. One guy for example caught everyone's eyes with his rapping that he dedicated to his father who had expired earlier this year. With fierce aggressiveness their rapping, it was a competition to watch.

There was no restriction on the language of rapping, but the Punjabi way of rapping had its own charm. Judged by "Machas with Attitude" and with a special performance by "Kaala Kurta Gang", it was an evening worth viewing.

Participants would throng to the stage and sing their self composed pieces. For the sake of clarity for every one present, there was a huge screen that was put up in which the lyrics (that had been prepared the rappers themselves) were rolling by as the participants rapped their way to glory.

Says Anand, a fellow rap enthusiast, "The participation this time was bigger and better as compared to last year. I loved the way the participants performed with extreme devotion and aggression. It was as if you could feel them rapping from their hearts. I loved Kaala Kurta Gang especially."

The best thing that I personally noticed in this event was the attitude that the participants exhibited. It was filled with confidence and zeal. Fastboy emerged as the ultimate winner in a competition that was very very close.

Hope Rap turns 3.0 comes out to be better and more awesome as this competition is unique to BITS and supposedly happens nowhere else in India.
