Xerox Centre at HR College

It has been three years here in HR College. The institution has on offer a million different things, from the vast library to the sumptuous food in the canteen (Oh and the wondrous knowledge too!). But there is one thing that has, particularly been of great significance. And that of course is the indoor Photocopy center! (No, I'm not kidding.)

Photocopy centers essentially are the core of every educational establishment. They form as much an important part as textbooks and other written materials do; at least, especially in colleges (and most certainly in HR!!). Why, you ask. Well mostly because the professors in HR prefer giving personal notes (ones which they have compiled from a number of different sources) and really because most students in HR prefer reading from other students' notes than their own (THAT is owing to the fact that they don't make notes at all!!!).

Why am I making such a big deal out of a Photocopy center?

Well that's for the reason that it is an indoor center. While most colleges have these littered outside, HR has one on the fourth floor of the building. It is integrated at the prime location close to the lift and the water cooler. This is so convenient rather than walking down outside the college for a copy of those Accounts problems. Not just that!

The center (although enclosed in this tiny area) is a hub for stationery items. It has notepads, pens, notebooks, files and even calculators. Notes can be photocopied and spiral bound here. And the best part of the deal is that Sameer (the guy in charge of the center, marked in the picture) is the nicest person. Not only does he know his customers by face and most times even by name, he also offers us steep discounts and credit.

Here's an example of Sameer's ingenuity. When students simply end up on the last few days before a test at the photocopy center (or Xerox center as it is called now) and request for a copy of X's notes for a particular topic, and wonder of wonders, Sameer already has readymade copies of the notes!

It is enough to say that HR College would be handicapped without the ready assistance of the Sameer's Photocopy center.
