Take me away!

Someone has rightly said that there's a positive and a negative side to everything. And so is the case with a 'good' student (I mean one who's academically proficient!). When in school, you are expected to perform 'exceedingly' well in Board examinations so that you guarantee a seat in one of the best institutions of the country/world. Now when you are in that seat, then you are expected to prepare and perform for another seat for your masters in a 'better' college. Now, how can a college be better than your current one if your current one's the best? We at St. Xavier's suffer from the same woes.

Once you are in your final year, all that you are expected to worry about are the Nationwide and Worldwide competitive examinations, ready to barge into your homely lives like unwelcome guests. Why does a good student, studying in the best college of the country, need to prove his/her 'geek-iness' by getting into an imaginary 'better' college? Complete torture I say!

To add to these seemingly trivial problems are the semester examinations, especially in a college that's so horribly good that it ensures fair-evaluation in every semester. By that, I mean, you can always expect an arrear in any theory or practical paper even in your final semester, leave alone the Supplementary examinations, conducted to help you clear your arrears, if any, and graduate! After all, that's the punishment for getting good brains and working hard!

To top it all, add to it the minimum 360 hours of compulsory non-academic credits you are supposed to earn (out of which at least 30 hours of credit are to be acquired by social service!).

So, a final year, final semester, undergraduate student of St. Xavier's has to worry about these:

1. Clearing college semester exams
2. Clearing competitives with brilliant ranks (since you hail from the best Undergraduate college of the country!)
3. Acquiring the minimum number of non-academic credits
4. Always appearing fresh and cool, since that's the spirit ...

All this results in the students chanting these lines at the end of the day:

I can't handle this confusion,
I'm unable; come and take me away...

But again, no matter whatever is the case, SXCCAL is the best! And that's a fact!
