Presenting to you the heroes of the streets!

Hundreds of years ago, diamonds were sold in the streets of Hampi. India's culture, colors, traditions and talent was displayed out on the streets. These street vendors, hawkers, pheriwalla, rehri-patri walla, sidewalk traders or whatever it is that the people called them provided the magical allure in the streets of India. The smell of the spices, the voices of the vendors calling out to the people, their colorful spread of goodies, this is the magic of bazaars and streets of India.
Over the years their reputation came down drastically. Even though almost all of us depend on these people.
'Social Zest', the Sociology club in St Joseph's college of Arts and Science, is publishing a book, 'The street vendors', which is expected to be out in the book stores soon.
