Quark 2012
Quark the annual techno-managerial festival of BITS, Pilani – Goa is in the ball park. It will kick off with the inaugural events on 2nd February. This time the Quark Co-ordinating Committee has put in some real hard work. The line-up of events seems really impressive as many brilliant events and acts will be performed for the first time in this technical extravaganza! Let me give a brief introduction.
Aiming at connecting the brightest young minds with the mutual passion for science, technology, management & humanities, this year Quark also has an array of special cultural performances. The first of spectacular special night performances is by Arvind Jaishankar – a magician from Amsterdam. Faridkot – Finalists at Channel V Launchpad are another cultural attraction at Quark. The special performances by Mime Club and Dance club for Quark with a tint of tech in them are as usual awaited. And, what could be a better farewell than a splendid Music Nite by the magnificent
Music Club!
For the first time ever, Quark has introduced Guest Lectures from revered personalities in various fields including music, entrepreneurship, business and technology. Prabhu Deva - the new Indian express group, C Mohan – Former IBM India Chief Scientist, Shantanu Moitra – Indian Music Director are some of the scintillating speakers who will be grace the stage with their speech during Quark.
Another add-on this year is the Green Conference named as BITS G-Con. It aims at working towards making renewable energy a more viable commodity for the masses and is themed Alternate Energy Sources.
The informals this year include the popular amusement Laser Tag other than Sumo Wrestling. Flight Simulator, Informal Workshops like solving a Rubik's cube and the cultural events are other crowd pullers. Besides the technical and managerial workshops a business law workshop will enthrall the non-tech public in Quark 2012.
