Shouvik Roy, my friend and I had participated in INCEPTION '11 a fest organized by Sinhagad College and had represented Fergusson Academy of Creative Sciences. We had taken part in the event "lights, camera, action." It was a film making event where in maximum two people could team up and there were two rounds. In the first round we had to submit our short film which we have made in past. Top three entries get into the second round, wherein those three teams had to make a fresh new short film within Singhgad campus in the next two hours. A very tedious task to perform.
For the first round there were total 15 entries. We made it to the top three entries.
Then was the real challenge as we had to make a new film in just two hours. We are immature in film making, had thought of what we would do in the second round if at all we get through the first one. We had discussed few ideas with Sushanta Sir, one of the animation department faculties the day before. But, I was almost mentally not expecting to be selected as I was pretty conscious about my first round. To our surprise, we cleared it.
Then in the second round we were almost running short of time. For the first 45 minutes, we were busy shooting. Shouvik handled the camera after we decided the shots, and I had to act. And in the last fifteen minutes, I had to complete editing. Gosh! It was really challenging. But we submitted that too and guess what, we WON!
The film rotates on student life away from home and though he gets graduated, didn't have time to return back home due to the campus interviews for jobs. Meanwhile he receives a letter from his parents congratulating him on his graduation and even missing him a lot. He loses interests in everything around then and goes and sits in an empty classroom near a window and internally recites a poem explaining his state of mind and shows his emotions.
