The best thing about doing a mass media course is that u can visit all those important places which you usually don't even give a thought about. Places like the library, newspaper office, archives and studios. And trust me they aren't boring if you have little interest and a good company.
It was just an usual day but we made it unusual by ending up in a studio of television channel. We, a bunch of 5 girls went to IBN Lokmat's studio for a talk show on the current BMC elections. Given it was my first television studio being visited, I was very fascinated by it. It was a very big studio with people wearing big identity cards hovering here and there, lots of cubicles with computers and laptops on it and people working on them. They were so efficient with their work that our presence or disturbance didn't bother them, their eyes seemed to be glued to the monitor. A girl who must be the reporter was standing on a desk and saying something about some incident but the thing to notice was that there was a big LCD put up in front of her so that she can see how exactly does she look on screen.
Finally, we reached this particular show's set where we were meant to be. We could see people from other colleges too, some were so much involved that they were even seen preparing questions to be asked in the show. It was a pretty nice set with lots of white screen on which through a projector the title of the show was flashing again and again. There were three such screens put up. Then there were black curtains on the ceiling with lots of light giving effects on the stage and on those sofas that were for us, the audience. Then there was a girl who was taking individual votes and personal information. After giving her all the information we were seated on the sofas. And after few minutes the show was intend to be started. Beside the sitting row there was this camera which moves from up row to down
