Yamuna Photoshoot in SRCC

Colleges in Delhi University are home to innumerable societies dedicated to innumerable genres of academia and extracurricular. Shri Ram being no exception, witnesses a lot of events held by societies such as Commerce society, Dramatic society, Economic society, English Literary society, Fine Arts society, Hindi Sahitya Sabha to name a few, all year round.

Now what makes working for these events more fun is nothing but the perks one gets for being associated with these societies.
Every year begins with the college magazine Yamuna holding photo shoots for all registered societies. Professional photographers are called in for the same and every society with their teacher-in-charge and Principal Sir, Dr. P.C Jain pose their way to glory. Also, every society designs a sweatshirt for the academic year- ensuing a silent battle of who-has-the-best-sweatshirt and also leaving the individuals in multiple societies an empty wallet!

What makes this process fun is the bonhomie amongst the students in every society. For some students it might be taking repeated trips to the washroom to fix their hair (for others it might be ridiculing their fastidiousness). In any case, the prospect of entire societies coming together and smiling for the camera on a sunny day is an alluring one. All societies are given a particular time for their respective photo shoot, which, as any event in our country, is scheduled and rescheduled constantly.

Organizing the photo shoot is not easy though. One has to coordinate with the teacher-in-charge and make sure that all society members are informed well in time of the photo shoot.Furthermore, one has to make sure that everything is carried out on time and that no society is left out. The Hindi Sahitya Sabha did a marvelous job this year in coordinating the overall schedule with unavoidable glitches.
