The Young Investment Gurus
The Investment Club of H.R. College, commonly popular as ICHR is a distinguished club of members highly intellectual in fields of finance and accounting. This very line makes me feel proud of the fact that I am too a part of such a club amidst the varied cultural and sports associations in college.
ICHR was an idea initiated eight years back when a group of Finance Freaks from college approached our Principal to start such a club in college. Gradually with time, ICHR has built its reputation and stand amongst various other clubs of H.R. College.
The core objective of ICHR has always been to inculcate the value of investing and to spread awareness about the financial products available in the current scenario. This, ICHR has accomplished in a very unique manner by conducting exclusive finance based events and seminars where the Actual Investment Gurus of the market were roped in to share their idea and perspective on topics relating to Capital Markets, Debt Instruments, Shares, real estate investment and so on.
Every year ICHR conducts three major events namely the Bollywood Stock Exchange (BSE), Hollywood Stock Exchange (HSE) and Cerebellum Tingler. The latter being a finance and business based quiz. BSE and HSE are the exclusive events conducted by ICHR. Both involve a stock exchange that is created with the various actors listed and participants are allowed to trade on them following their real life incidents. A very subtle way to explain the basics of the how the stock exchange and the stock market works!
However this year ICHR has taken a step forward and has introduced an intercollegiate festival 'BLAZE 2012' comprising of 14 fun filled finance events for colleges allover Mumbai. BLAZE kick starts on the 10th of February this year.
