Marathi Divas

Feb 8th 2012 12:00AM

Government Law College with its sizable and enthusiastic Marathi student community, recently celebrated Marathi Diwas. Organized by the Marathi Mandal, Marathi Divas held on the 25th of this month, spanned from events starting early in the morning to an impromptu DJ party held in the grand auditorium in the evening.

The plethora of talent amongst the participants might put the professors mind at rest. The star amongst those who performed happens to be Naresh, the winner of the Solo Singing competition . Despite being visually impaired, Naresh happens to be not only a brilliant student but also a great performer. His rendition of a Marathi folk song brought tears to the eyes of some of the audience members. All in all, almost every event had a sizable number of participants and Marathi Diwas was declared to be a grand success. This was followed by prize distribution. Some of the committee members managed to convince the professors to allow the Grand Auditorium to be used as an impromptu dance floor which certainly helped in making every organizing committee member
