Ship Wreck - Zephyr '12

Dolly Bindra, Rakhee Sawant, Kim Kardashian, Osama Bin Laden, Ajmal Kasab, Sunny Leone and other such figures are on a sinking ship. There are only two life jackets. Who would you rescue? Who deserves to live? Now before you start picking and choosing, give each one of these controversial figures a chance to convince you that their life should be saved.

On the second of Zephyr, the annual fest of the English Literary Society, 'Ship Wreck' garnered the most attention from the students of SRCC. Boys went up the stage pretending to be Sunny Leone, Mallika Sherawat, Paris Hilton and other such figures. Each of the participants had to act like the person they were told to a few minutes before they got on stage. The winners of the event would be the ones who best convinced the panel of the judges that they deserved one of the two life jackets.

Osama Bin Laden says that he provides news to the media. But wait! Rakhee Sawant claims to provide more juicy news than Bin Laden ever can. Kim Kardashian then comes up and claims Rakhee merely is merely popular in India, while she, Kim, rules the hearts of men around the world. Meanwhile, Dolly Bindra informs the audience of the importance of her forceful ways to 'correct' the modern woman, teach them how to cook and how to dress. And finally before you can decide, Sunny Leone proudly asserts that she is the face of all Indian women.

In the end, Meenakshi Nair and Calvin Pinto, both second year students of SRCC, won the event. The viewers got their share of laughs and praised the brave ones who went up the stage. The idea and the execution of such an event was only a display of the immense creativity that is lies within the students of SRCC and DU.
