Microsoft I Spark is a program initiated by Microsoft to help students turn their innovative ideas into verity. The program is an insightful step towards bridging the gap between the industry needs and student readiness, thereby creating better employment opportunities, technology adoption and strengthening IT competencies among students.The main objective of the i-spark center is to bring Industry-Institution to a common forum, thereby mutually benefiting each other through exchange of technology and other resources.

Microsoft I spark center was inaugurated by Microsoft India Development Platform Evangelist Mr. Phani Kondepudi in our college on 11th August 2011. Our college (SR Engineering College) is the 6th I-Spark center in India.The Microsoft initiative would offer an opportunity for students to innovate on software platforms it provides, Mr. Phani said, calling upon students to make use of the unique opportunity.I-Spark ensures that your imagination sparks opportunity to build a platform. It helps you to better job skills or to create jobs. We provide the eco-system to build the platform," Mr. Phani said.

By this center students would be provided with Microsoft certification based on their performance, which could be a vital add-on qualification to their professional degree, while IT firms would be welcomed to set up research centres.

SR Engineering College in collaboration with Microsoft has organised a landmark event called "Dream Spark Yatra" with 1100 participants from colleges encompassing Andhra Pradesh. The purpose was to deliver recent trends in Microsoft Technologies effectuated by 12 Microsoft Student Partners.
