The annual fest of MIC with Better Photography is conducting a photography competition exclusively for the students of Manipal University.

The theme for the competition is: Show All. Tell All. – Portraiture. The participant is expected to explore personality, emotion and connection and is expected to use original thinking to play with texture, shadow, background and the power of suggestion. Step outside the frame and capture more than the average portrait.

The rules of the competition are as follows:

The competition is open to all Manipal University staff and students.

• The photograph must be an original shot. Up to three entries per participant will be accepted.

• The entrant must be the sole creator of his / her photographs and must also own the copyrights and rights to reproduction of all pictures entered into the contest. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not the organisers or their sponsors, to ensure that publication of the photographs raises no legal claims.

• The EXIF data of the photograph must not be deleted under any circumstances. In addition to the EXIF data, a brief note describing the photographers thought process behind the photograph and where the image was made should also be sent.

• Entries must not have any form of border, watermark, copyright or identifying mark.

• The organisers retain the right to use the photographs for display, in print or electronic form.

• Manipulation of the photographs will not be allowed. However, basic image correction and colour enhancement is allowed.

• A fee of Rs.100 will be charged per entry. The entries and fees
