A tribute to the leaders

"I am Xavotsav.

I am not just an event, but a mirror. The closer you come to me, the clearer will you be able to see your reflection. I shall show you who you are. I shall help you know yourself.

I am like Gold, your asset. You can treat me like a brick and keep me in your locker. But you can also treat me like jewellery: the more beautifully you design me, the more appreciation I shall attract for you.

I am like clay. You can leave me on the ground, exactly in the way I've always been or you can be the potter and mould me to bring out the best in both you and me.

I am like a twig. When you find yourself drowning in these waters of killing competition, you can hang on to me and I shall save you.

I am like a painting. You can colour me arbitrarily, but then you won't understand what I turn out to be. And if you colour me with the colours of your mind and heart, I shall turn out to be a masterpiece, your masterpiece.

I was born not to win you fame, but to help you discover yourself. And like always, I shall do exactly that, today, tomorrow and forever."

And this is exactly what Xavotsav 2012 was all about: a grand event for the audience, an achievement for the organizers and a transformation for the leader, Kaushal Kumar Nahata.

The St. Xavier's College Students' Union is an independent, elected, democratic body that looks after all the student affairs of the college, of which, XAVOTSAV is the biggest challenge. Every year, fresh elections take place in which the year's Students' Union is formed. Since years, St. Xavier's College has seen deserving students carry the flag of the College. And so was the case this year too, but with the modification that the flag was passed on to someone who strove for excellence rather than for sustenance.
