Avid to impress every parent was evident in every Carmelite. It was Parent's Day in Mount Carmel College once again! This was a 'Big Day' for all of us as we got a big big chance to impress our families and give our best shot by showcasing our talents at various disciplines. There is nothing better than being appreciated by the whole college in the presence of one's big Family. A prodigious amount of effort was put in by every single soul to make the evening eventful.
The evening began on an upbeat note, with our college song being sung first and our lecturer welcoming the middle-aged crowd who sat very patiently throughout the function. Later, we had the Indian Music and the Western Music associations singing a medley which was an assimilation of music from the east and the west. This effort was acknowledged and thoroughly enjoyed by the crowd. As it struck 7:30, Our Sister Principal, Sr. Juanita, read out the annual report of the college which was impressive with this year being no exception. It was a privilege to have Mr and Mrs. Pramod Jayraj (IAS officer) as the Honorable chief guests for the evening, who felicitated the many outstanding students of the year 2010 - 2011.
As time went by, the auditorium had the Indian Dance who gave a breathtaking performance and left the audience spell bound. Next, we had the journalism department enact a little skiit which was so meant for the day. 'Better late than never' won the hearts of the audience. To please the gathering, the Kannada Sanga, gave their best shot to portray characteristics from the Hindu mythology. With the University song and the National Anthem, we concluded the day on a happy note. Kudos to all those who worked toward making this day a big success!
