Beggars' Day
Final year students await it.
Pre-final year students hate it.
Freshmen fret it.
The one day during the whole year where there are no college rules, but those laid down by the seniors!
The day seniors are supposed to 'beg' for money, moose and material, but then what kind of seniors beg?! They extort them all. So, practically Beggars' day means senior make the rest of the college beg them for the things they posses of their own right.
That day- juniors trick or treat them out of respect. Mess with the rule and you go berserk. You'll be penniless, watch less, chainless, goggle less, glassless, notes less, shoeless and what-not-less.
And all this happens until early in the evening. This is where the begging stops and fun begins!
Seniors wear white shirts. Get written on them- autographs and memories. Get written on their faces a bit- not like they can help it otherwise. Every department forms a mob, bullies the bikes and cars inside the green campus and honks around the campus. 3 laps! Or is it 7!! There would be people on the top of cars and the donks under them! But nobody cares that day.
They final settle down each department in a corner, open up their huge trunks, pull out the speakers, play the loudest desi songs on the planet and dance on the roads to the 'teen mar' beats with their white customized tees on and faces tired from bullying all day. Then the band wale arrive, if by that time the situation hasn't still gotten out of hand and the disco(disciplinary committee) people stop you by 7.30 in the evening.
They finally go home, high from everything the day has been and low from the fact that college can never get better than that day. It would be the final week of college, full of tests, labs and viva voce. And they embrace it all. One last time.
This!! This is the unique and peculiar
