Kanay Varma, a dear friend of mine, is a student from the science stream in my college, and for one must know, he is an extremely talented and passionate musician, and a part our school band. He has been learning since the past 2 years now, his electric guitar being 6 months old and the acoustic one being 2 years old.

He enjoys and specializes in playing all kinds of rock music, be it metal, punk, pop rock, alternative etc. He plays an electric guitar; it's an Epiphone Les Paul 100 i.e. a LP-100.Its Black (main) and off-white (pick guard, kill switch) in colour. He always loved music. As a kid, his inclination towards English music slowly increased, and as he realized the whole generation then was crazy behind electronic music and r-n-b. The two genres he really liked listening to were rock music and trance (more of rock actually). Listening to Metallica, John Mayer and Avenged Sevenfold play made him want to learn even more and he finally started playing to the guitar. He is inspired by many bands and singles like Green Day ,Simple Plan, Life house , Boys like girls , Metallica , John Mayer , Avenged Sevenfold , Sum41 , Panic! At the disco, 30 seconds to mars, Blink-182, Bullet for my valentine, Jack Johnson *whew* the list is way too long!. The stories of these bands that have made it big, proving that it is not wrong to have a dream, certainly not wrong to pursue them, as if he also gave the example of, Boys like girls, who went to normal high schools, motivate him. The members practiced playing in an apartment and how they play huge today and yes his girlfriend too! He has started learning so many songs by himself to play for her. He has started to pen down lyrics and compose them too!

He is highly influenced by Green day's lead vocalist Billy Joe Armstrong, Simple plan (the whole band) , Metallica's lead guitarist Kirk Hammett, Avenged Seven Fold's lead guitarist Synyster gates and rhythm
