Flamenco Scintillation - Day 1

Jan 20th 2012 03:00AM

At last the most awaited day in college has come and almost a part of it is over. As the day kicked off for Scintillation a bright Thursday morning and the parking lots are already full by 8:15 am. The gate squad stands outside as I enter the gate and even after I got my ID checked thrice, they weren't satisfied with the photo match. Nevermind, that was to show the importance given to tight security. The classes went on for the first one-and a half hour, ironically, everyone was chilling out in the ground and helping with the last minute preparations.

This year the theme is 'FLAMENCO' Flamenco is music based song and dance from the Spanish region of Andalusia, noted for its energetic, staccato style and we are sure this even the college portrayed a more energetic mood today. As the event kicked off at 10 am there was a jam-packed auditorium with people screaming their lungs out in a sudden surge of happiness at Ms.Lakshmi Anand who was the chief guest and RJ Anjaan the guest of honour. The inauguration took place with a amazing cultural-extravaganza by the Jyoti Nivas Choir, Indian dance, Western dance teams, a retrospection to the previous year's achievements and fests and the speech by the Principal and the guests.

By 11:30 am the events had started with Ice Breaker, with a scintillating performance by the St. Josephs Arts and Science. And then were the street dance, Western dance, Mad ads, Indian Dance and the Electric heals for the event highlights for Day-1. A very active participation witnessed from all the colleges across Bangalore.
The college waits for a brighter Day-2 with more exciting events to be witnessed. Mock Rock, Beat boxing, Personality and the Rock show seems to be some of highlights for Day-2, which doesn't seem too far.
